What does provisioning mean in TxContact?
2 recommendations  | 956 views

Provisioning involves the process of preparing and equipping a TxTalk instance to allow it to provide services to its users.

Each agent who is part of TxContact uses TxTalk, which is a softphone to make and receive phone calls. There are many settings available in TxTalk and a user might need time and effort to configure all the settings that his company needs. Also when a customer of TxContact adds new agents, it would be difficult for them to configure / help each and every agent individually.

To overcome this, we have a provisioning server. Every  time an agent brings up TxTalk, a request is sent to the provisioning server. The provisioning server identifies the agent using his/her windows login id (or the username and password we provide them). If the provisioning server identifies the agent, it sends back all the required settings and TxTalk configures itself automatically.
